On 10 May, the official 'go' to submit proposals for ERA4CS, a European research network gathering 45 partner organisations from 18 countries, will take place at the Adaptation Futures 2016 conference.
For this keystone in the history of JPI Climate, Commission’s Director General for Research and Innovation, Robert-Jan Smits, together with his counterpart in the Dutch Ministry for Environment and Infrastructure, Peter Heij, will come to the JPI Climate booth to officially launch the ERA4CS submission portal for this flagship project that is financed by member states with a 33% contribution by the EU framework programme Horizon 2020.

Join the launch of the UNEP Adaptation Finance Gap Report. Building on the 2014 Adaptation Gap Report, this new UNEP report zooms in on the likely costs of meeting adaptation needs in developing countries now and in the future, and the finance available and required to meet these costs. Key findings of the report will be presented and discussed in the context of the Paris Agreement and its implementation. The event also features a Q&A session. This event is open to all.

|What||Launch of the global benchmark report Sustainable Cities Index Water by Arcadis|

During this event Arcadis celebrates the launch of the first Sustainable Cities Index Water, a study of 50 major global cities by their water sustainability, measuring how effective they are in terms of resiliency, efficiency and quality. During a festive gathering Arcadis will reveal the results of this global research. Mr Henk Ovink, Special Envoy for International Water Affairs at Kingdom of the Netherlands will receive the official first copy of this research from Frank Goossensen, European Director Water at Arcadis. Arcadis network relations attending the Adaptation Futures Conference and interested attendees of the Round Table Nature based-solutions in cities are welcome at this event.

In 2017, on the initiative of Henk Ovink, Special Envoy for International Water Affairs for the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Noordhoff Uitgevers and Lijn43, in collaboration with the Dutch national government and national and international partners, will bring onto the market the first Water Atlas of the World.
This atlas will contain hundreds of maps, photographs and illustrations that provide an up-to-date and coherent picture of global challenges and urgencies in the water domain. The Atlas will present water-related economic, ecological, sociological and political perspectives. It will combine different geographical scales, from individual towns, regions and projects to global trends and developments. The Atlas aims at extending the general public’s international water awareness and inspiring administrators and decision-makers with a sense of urgency and creative, integrated solutions.

Co-generating and integrating climate risk information to build resilience for development, disaster risk reduction, and conservation

During this event World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and the Columbia University Center for Climate Systems Research (CCSR) will release the first edition of The ADVANCE Approach. This publication is a guide for collaborating with stakeholders to co-generate and integrate climate risk information into the process of building resilience for development, disaster risk reduction, and biodiversity conservation.
Launched in 2015, ADVANCE was jointly developed by WWF and CCSR to facilitate planning and deci¬sion-making by providing new ways of applying climate risk information to build resilience. The ADVANCE Ap¬proach is being piloted in Bhutan, Colombia, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, and Nepal among other countries.
Cynthia Rosenzweig, Senior Research Scientist (Columbia University and NASA GISS) and Shaun Martin, Senior Director, Climate Change Adaptation and Resilience (WWF-US) will introduce The ADVANCE Approach at the launch.
